Our Goal
To reduce what is sent to the landfill and educate the community on the benefits of reducing waste
Changing your practices with household waste would dramatically reduce what you send to landfills.

Waste Not Initiatives
1 / Walking With a Purpose
On the second Wednesday of each month,
volunteers pick up trash at several locations in Penfield, discussing ongoing projects as we work.
2 / Christmas Tree Project
Early in January, Christmas Trees are collected by volunteers for the town to mulch for residents.
3 / Pushing for County Wide Composting Program
In conjunction with other Color Your Community Green teams, we speak for municipal composting at County Legislature Meetings.
