Housing For All
Our Goal
Color Penfield Green envisions a Town where people can live their whole lives, flourishing at every stage of life. Penfield will thrive when we have housing opportunities for everyone who contributes to the well-being of our community, including our essential workforce - teachers, nurses, mechanics, and many others.
We also recognize that the Greater Rochester Region, NY State, and the nation is experiencing a housing crisis. We believe that Penfield must be a part of the solution.
Color Penfield Green advocates for the development of quality, economically attainable, and environmentally sustainable housing.
Building Sustainably

-
Tie housing development to climate goals
-
Protect green space and farmable land
-
Ensure a healthy habitat for all species
-
Increase density through sensible mixed-use development, supporting vibrancy in local businesses
-
Increase walkability/bikeability to improve our physical and mental health
Expanding Attainable Housing
-
Invest in and incentivize missing-middle housing
-
Provide affordable housing options for seniors wanting to downsize or supplement income, and young people starting out on their own.
-

Prioritize long-term over short-term rentals
