What is Beneficial Electrification?

Description of beneficial electrification

Why Color Penfield Green Supports Beneficial Electrification & Decarbonization Initiatives

Color Penfield Green is deeply committed to policies, initiatives and actions that can (and should) be taken at the individual, local, state and national levels to more rapidly decarbonize and electrify (with clean, renewable sources of electricity) all aspects of our daily lives and activities.

We began our efforts in this policy area as a small Penfield resident’s committee in the Fall of 2018 lobbying the Town of Penfield to implement a Community Choice Aggregation program (now active as of 12/2021) with much higher percentages of clean and renewable electricity (50 or 100%) provided to all Penfield residents.

We continue to this day to support, with many successful initiatives already completed, beneficial electrification & decarbonization efforts at all four of the levels noted above.
